about

This project is called NORTH FACE AND TECH FLEECE because that's pretty much what I've been wearing all winter for a few years now.

I chose a few beats I made in the past year that make me think of winter. Dark samples and tough drums.
I wanted the project to sound like a tape....more specifically I wanted it to sound like you're listening to a Panasonic Shockwave with the XBS(extra bass system) switched on. So I recorded the beats from my samplers to an old Harmon Kardon tape player. I then recorded it back to the computer.
I ended up using a Scotch Brand blank tape that had a "1988 Calgary Winter Olympics" logo on it...very fitting.

The names of the tracks are all things that get me through the winter.

All the beats were made with a combination of the SP-1200(Drums), S6000(Samples) and S950(Filters and Bass).

I have to thank and shout out Huwey Lewis and Jones for co-producing Bubblegoose and Duffelcoat, and Incognico for co-producing Longjohns. Jones also played live bass into the S950 on Gore-Tex, Bubblegoose and Longjohns.
